The Daiyu Chronicles: Welcome to the World of Daiyu

Somewhere beneath the neon glow, falling rain, crowded markets, and constant hum of starships, millions of lives are unfolding on Daiyu.

Most Star Wars viewers know the planet from Obi-Wan Kenobi, where Obi-Wan travels into Daiyu City while searching for the kidnapped Princess Leia Organa. What we see is only a brief glimpse: a sprawling urban world filled with brilliant lights, packed streets, criminal enterprises, spice dealers, bounty hunters, struggling residents, Imperial patrols, and people simply trying to survive.

The Daiyu Chronicles begins with a simple question:

What is happening in the rest of that city while the heroes of the galaxy are having their adventures?

This collection explores those other stories.

A World Larger Than One Story

The Daiyu Chronicles is not intended to follow one hero from beginning to end.

Instead, it is a collection of interconnected stories and novel series about people living on Daiyu during the age of the Galactic Empire.

Some characters will be smugglers.

Some may be criminals.

Others might be pilots, mechanics, entertainers, street vendors, Imperial employees, doctors, refugees, investigators, or ordinary residents whose lives become tangled in events much larger than themselves.

Some stories will be suitable for a broad audience.

Others will explore mature themes and will be clearly marked and restricted to adult readers.

But all of them take place in the same evolving world.

A bartender who appears briefly in one novel might become important several stories later. A business introduced as background scenery might eventually become the center of another character’s life. A crime committed in one story could change an entire neighborhood in another.

Characters may cross paths without realizing how important the other person’s story really is.

That is one of the central ideas behind the collection:

Everyone is the main character of a story we simply haven’t heard yet.

The Daiyu Chronicles World Guide

The evolving reference behind the collection is called the Daiyu Chronicles World Guide.

It isn’t meant to permanently lock every detail into place.

The guide will grow and change as new stories reveal new parts of the planet, new characters enter the collection, and events reshape the places readers have already encountered.
